STEVENS Vertriebs GmbH, Asbrookdamm 35, 22115 Hamburg (hereinafter referred to as “we”), warrants the quality and durability of STEVENS bicycles and pedelecs/e-bikes. In accordance with these warranty terms, we warrant to private end customers (hereinafter referred to as the “Customer”) who have purchased a STEVENS bicycle or pedelec/e-bike that the frame and fork of the STEVENS bicycle or pedelec/e-bike will be free from defects in materials or workmanship during the warranty period.
The Customer's statutory rights under product liability laws or against the respective seller under the applicable statutory warranty for defects are not affected by this warranty.
Which parts and damage are covered by the warranty and how long is the warranty period?
A STEVENS bicycle or pedelec/e-bike is a product assembled by us from various components and branded accessories (hereinafter referred to as “Components”) from renowned manufacturers. The warranty applies only to STEVENS bicycle frames and STEVENS bicycle forks (hereinafter referred to as the “Warranty Items”) of the STEVENS bicycle or pedelec/e-bike and is valid for 6 years from the date of sale to the private first purchaser. Components from other manufacturers, in particular bicycle forks from third-party manufacturers, are not covered by this warranty.
What requirements apply when making a claim under the warranty?
A prerequisite for making a claim under this STEVENS warranty is that your bicycle or pedelec/e-bike is registered at: portal.stevensbikes.de
The performance of warranty services does not extend the warranty period or cause the warranty period to begin again.
Normal wear and tear and damage to the Warranty Items caused by use contrary to the intended provisions/specifications are excluded from the warranty (see the manual/operating instructions – sections “General Safety Instructions” and “Intended Use”).
In particular, no warranty claim exists for damage caused by insufficient care, failure to perform maintenance (in accordance with the manual), falls, overloading due to excessive loads, improper assembly (failure to comply with the assembly instructions of the component manufacturers), or the addition or modification of additional components on the STEVENS bicycle or pedelec/e-bike that have not been authorised by the respective manufacturer.
The coating and/or paintwork of the Warranty Items is naturally subject to stress during the period of use and may wear, fade or sustain minor damage. Such wear or damage caused by mechanical stress (e.g. scratches resulting from rough contact with other objects) is excluded from the warranty.
What warranty services do we provide?
If a Warranty Item develops a defect or a defect in materials and/or workmanship within the warranty period, we will, at our discretion, replace it with a new item (replacement delivery), repair the Warranty Item ourselves, or have it repaired by a STEVENS specialist dealer commissioned by us.
A replacement may differ from the original bicycle in terms of model, dimensions and colour. The same applies in the event of a repair with regard to the components or additional parts used for the repair.
In the event of a warranty claim, we will bear the material costs, but not shipping costs or any assembly costs. These costs must be borne by the Customer and settled directly with the STEVENS specialist dealer. If we carry out the repair on behalf of the STEVENS specialist dealer, we will invoice the repair costs to the STEVENS specialist dealer, who will pass these costs on to the Customer.
What other warranty terms must be observed?
The STEVENS warranty is non-transferable and applies only to the private end customer who purchased the bicycle first-hand, i.e. directly from a retailer (first purchaser).
Warranty claims may only be made upon presentation of the Customer's original proof of purchase showing the purchase date and a copy of the fully completed bicycle pass and handover report (forms can be found in the bicycle manual).
Claims under this warranty exist only if the Customer reports the warranty claim to a STEVENS specialist dealer within 14 days of becoming aware of it and gives the dealer the opportunity to perform a fault analysis by handing over or sending in the product.
